Artist's Comments
From “Lottie’s House” photograph, the story of her life comes to mind. Lottie was a worker of the red light district, who married a respectable butcher (Eli Johl). She struggled to be accepted in Bodie’s upper society given her past. She was recognized though as a great artist for her paintings done during her lonely time. Still, after her dead there was opposition from townspeople to not allow her to be buried among the decent people of Bodie.

 reports, 1d 11h agoDaily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. I love the picture though, and how you were able to capture the details of the fading wallpaper in the background, as well as the gritty feeling that most western ghost towns have.
